9,000 euros donation to Aktion Deutschland Hilft

The Munich-based Internet service provider SpaceNet AG has handed over a donation of 9,000 euros to the Aktion Deutschland Hilft organisation for the benefit of those affected by the severe earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. On the initiative of employees Meryem Bocu and Hülya Yilmaz, 125 SpaceNet employees collected a total of 3,000 euros - and thus far more than the announced sum of 1,000 euros, which the two board members Sebastian von Bomhard and Michael Emmer had promised would be tripled if reached.

People in the regions affected by the severe earthquakes in Turkey and Syria are still in urgent need of help. SpaceNet decided to take action and chose Aktion Deutschland Hilft, an alliance of German aid organisations that provides fast, coordinated and effective help in the event of disasters, as the recipient of the donations.

"I wasoverwhelmed by the fact that after my appeal for donations on the employee intranet, a donation of 3,000 euros was collected after just a few days, which was tripled to 9,000 euros by the Management Board members," says Management Board assistant Meryem Bocu. "I am so happy because our donation will provide those affected in my home country with food, clean drinking water, medicine and protective tents."

"We are deeply grateful for the generous donation from the employees of SpaceNet AG. Thanks to your donation, the alliance organisations of Aktion Deutschland Hilft are able to provide quick and direct help for the people on the ground who are currently affected by the severe earthquake disaster in Turkey and Syria," says Maria Rüther, Deputy Managing Director of "Aktion Deutschland Hilft"
